I've just seen a very impressive, literally "amazing" advert here. I mean, this had me actually chuckling and saying things like "no way" out loud, as I sat at my computer. Credit must go to the author of this blog post where I found the link.
According to the agency that "shot" the video, it took a gazillion takes to get it right. I still wonder, though... the windshield wiper part and the electrical parts have me suspicious, too.
I know. I was thinking the same thing. There were three parts in particular that seemed a bit fake to me. Beeing of a geeky disposition, I'll use an HTML "ordered list" here. [Edit, HTML wasn't allowed :(]
1) The initial cog doesn't appear to be actually rolling, more like sliding with a rolling sound being played. 2) When the wheels are rolling uphill they seem to speed up. I suppose this could be possible if you have a weight attached to the inside of each wheel at just the right spot. (Like how I'm an expert now?) 3) When the speakers switch on, they seem to be vibrating A LOT. I've observed speakers from close up before and they only vibrate a tiny amount.
Either way, I'm not buying the car. Insurance is a nightmare!
i agree with Andrew...your attention to detail, and the discriptive way you speak, to communicate the details you've notice are so lacking in our lives right now..

that ad knocked me out when I saw it in the cinema. And the use of the sugarhill gang track (rapper's delight) is a great touch. A totally funky bass line, and clever use of music, since it is generally accepted as the first "rap song" proper to be a hit.
